If you are planning a holiday e.g. together with families of friends or relatives, this space is perfect for it.
There is a cosy porch and a lot (at extra cost) and a yoga room / dojo downstairs. Located near the Tahko ski resort on the west side of the ski slopes. Peaceful, natural location in beautiful ridge landscapes in the middle of the forest. Great for families and groups.
The family kitchen has all the necessary cooking utensils, 2 fridges, a freezer, induction hob, convection oven, microwave, dishwasher and high chair. Cutlery is for 15 people. The cosy dining area can accommodate a larger group for a meal.
It is comfortable to sit on the spacious sofa to relax at the end of a hard day’s vacation. Free Wi-Fi and a large flat-screen TV (Smart TV) are at your disposal, as well as a range of club games. You can also light a wood-burning fireplace to bring warmth and atmosphere to the living area. The family apartment has 3 separate toilet facilities.
The family apartment has 5 separate bedrooms, each with 2 beds – one with bunk beds, plus a baby cot and, if necessary, a travel cot.

The apartment also has a glass-walled loft with 3 extra beds on mattresses. Kids and teens in particular love this hiding place of their own! The raft is climbed up the poles – not for very young children.
The family apartment has its own sauna and shower area. You can cool off on the atmospheric veranda or outside in the private courtyard area. It is also possible to book the wood-fired log sauna in the courtyard for a larger group.
The utility room has its own washing machine and drying cupboard, where you can also dry wet ski clothes.
You have a deal with a one-off heating price of €150. The price includes water, firewood, heating and a lot of final maintenance, ie disinfection and washing.
As a special feature, the Old School has a popular activity room/mini gym with tatami floor in the basement. The hall is open to school residents daily from 6am to 8pm.
The family apartment has its own garden area with a walled barbecue and garden furniture in the summer.
The family apartment has air conditioning, free WiFi and ample parking, including 2 spaces for a block heater. (Not suitable for charging an electric car.) Pets are allowed. Additional cleaning fee 30€/pet (allergy friendly cleaning), payable on site.
You can bring your own sheets and towels or rent them from us for 28€/set. Please make sure to use sheets on the beds to avoid extra cleaning charges.

Wanha koulu is located on the Western side of the Tahkovuori ski resort, in a quiet location in the middle of beautiful landscapes shaped by the ice age. There’s a 6 km distance to Tahko’s Western slopes and 14 km to the center of Tahko.
The environment of Wanha koulu offers lots of opportunities for leisure activities, both for adults and children.
In the summer, you can use e.g. a soccer field and a large campfire site. The mountain bike trails you access in 4km distance. For children, there are bicycles, a climbing frame built into a tree, a slide, a sandpit, swings and a ropeway. The surroundings also offer wonderful camping grounds with glacial ridges and valleys.
The nearby Tahkovuori ski resort offers a great environment for skiers in winter.
It is really convenient to go to the slopes from Tahko’s Western side, as there is always less traffic and you can park your car right next to the ski lifts. You can also buy the tickets here. The road to the famous Pehkubar and Panorama bar goes directly from the Western side.
In the summer season, on the west side of Tahko you can find wonderful camping destinations, e.g. Mäkiautio gorge and its scenic ledge, Rahasmäki ledge, and Huutavanholma.
In the summer, Tahko offers a wonderful environment for golfers, as well as for fishing, off-road electric cycling, shooting, paintball, kayaking, picking berries and mushrooms, and a spa. Also around the school, there are wonderful hiking grounds with glacial ridges and valleys.
